Intensive Moscow's Assaults Cut Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while inhabitants in the city's east were experienced blackouts and faced problems to drinking water, according to city officials.

At the same time, a minor was killed in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has increased assaults on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the United States, European nations and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 projectiles attacked the country's power systems, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were laboring to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from local officials.

Area administrators said the city came under heavy assaults throughout the evening. A minor lost their life and several individuals were injured.

The strikes succeed evenings of aerial attacks in the region, parts of which are occupied by Russian forces.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to identify.

National leaders told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already affecting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were anticipating additional strikes.
