I'll stamp all over 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to promote the upcoming boxing match.
Ex two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
However, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning substantial earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the customary confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
